Gecko Galz Christmas Tags

Here are two tags I made:

Tag 1: Small Tag

Products Used
------------------------
Sizzix / Tim Holtz Tag and Tie Die
White Cardstock
Gesso - white / meduim thickness
Close To My Heart Reinker Crystal Blue
Close To My Heart Saddle Brown ink
Snowflake Stencil
Winter Tree Stamp / by Rubber Stampede
Liquid Applique by Marvy
Copic markers
Pop squares
clear rhinestones
Ribbon
I used gesso to texture my white tag to give it a snowy look and then after drying I took some gesso and tinted it blue with some reinker and took a snowflake stencil and dabbed them on the four corners of the tag. After it was completely dried I took a stamped image of winter trees and glued it in the center of the tag, using liquid applique I dabbed it over the tree branches so they looked snowy. I colored my snowman from Gecko Galz Dec, Digital Stamps/Snowman Way with my copics and fussy cut it, then pop dotted it on the tag. I put a small clear rhinestone in the middle of the snowflakes. Lastly I used a ribbon from my stash to use as a tie.

Tag 2: Large Tag
Products Used
---------------------------
Sizzix / Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplates Die
Cream Cardstock
Gesso - white / meduim thickness
Close To My Heart Reinker Crystal Blue
Close To My Heart Saddle Brown ink
White Doily
Snowflake Stencil
Pop squares

Ribbon
This tag is cut from cream color cardstock and I used gesso that I tinted blue to stencil on snowflakes in each corner. I put clear rhinestones in the center of the snowflakes. I inked around the tag with Close To My Hearts Saddle Brown ink. I inked around a white doily with the ink and glued it to the center of the tag and glued a inked scalloped blue flurry circle in the middle of the doily. Then glued the image to the center of the scallop. The image and words are from Gecko Galz Winter Wishes 1 collage sheet. I fussy cut the words, inked around them and pop dotted them on the tag.

Christmas Decorations

Got a little tree made and a decoration using a image from Gecko Galz on a thread spool. Love how it turned out and will have to make a few more. I am waiting for some dies to show up in the mail so I can make a bigger tree to sit next to this little one.

To make this little tree you need :
several sheets of double sided Christmas paper
bamboo skewers for the middle of tree
a base for the tree, I got this spool from Micheal's in the dollar spot
bead for the spacers between the paper layers
Spellbinders scalloped die set
Spellbinders star die

You cut 3 layers of each of the scalloped dies and two of the stars
I used a nail to put a hole in the middle of the base
Bottom sheet I glued on to the base and then you put the skewer in -pointy side up....you then keep layering (bead then paper) I put it together and then when the star was place saw how much of the skewer I would need to cut off the bottom. I took it apart and cut off the excess from the bottom of the skewer. Putting it back together I put glue on the bottom of the beads and then paper until all used. Then the star gets glued together on the pointy part of the squewer. Hope you understood this...I am not the greatest at direction giving (the wording of it !!!)

This little guy is so easy........... you cut out your image and then cut a piece of plain cardstock the same size for the back. The spool I bought at Michaels and I painted it brown and cut a strip of snowflake paper and glued it on there. When gluing the image and backing together, I inserted a toothpick....the bottom half of the toothpick that sticks out is goes into the hole of the spool. And there you have a cute decoration. This is a small image but the size of the image depends on the size of your spool.

I also have decided no more store bought tags for my gift so as of last year I make my own. Here are a couple I did:

Christmas Time Is Here.........

I am busy...busy...busy getting my Christmas cards addressed and making Christmas ornaments. Lots of glitz and I am using empty ribbon spools for the base of the ornaments ( gotta be earth friendly). The images are from https://www.Geckogalz.com. Hope you like my ornaments and it is back to work for me, I have a tree to make still.

We have our tree up and our new addition to our tree is a train that goes around it. It is a Thomas the Train ( my grandsons favorite ) ....we hope to add to the display every year with village pieces.Still have to get the lights and ornaments on it but the lights have to be done on my son in laws next day off, I am to short to do it by myself !!! LOL

It looks alittle crooked.better get it straightened up before finishing it up !!!

About Me

My photo
Born in Illinois, moved to California when I was nine. Finished high school and some college. Got married and moved to Nebraska with hubby because he joined the Air Force. Then spent some time in Alaska before moving back to California. I lived in Californa until 2004 when my husband decided to move us to Texas. I still have a husband (yes-I still have him even though he moved me to Texas), two daughters, three cats (and two outside cats that adopted us along with two racoons that we feed). Things have changed, now that hubby retired......we moved to Colorado and have said goodbye to cats ( they are gone now ) No more racoons but we did adopt two rescue kitten from Hurricane Harvey.
