Found out I was excepted as a design team member for Gecko Galz. Love working with vintage images - guess that comes from when we ran a postcard show. I have alot of antique postcard that I will love using along with the fabulous products from Gecko Galz. Here's to the start of a new adventure !!!

Have been so busy, we had a three day retreat at my house. A total of 10 ladies scrapping for three days. Everything went great and we all had a good time. Then off to Colorado for the great American beer Fest and visiting my daughter Danielle. It is so beautiful there.....can hardly wait until retirement and moving there !!!!!
I have a class coming up on Oct. 16th - will be making 3 cards and two ornament.

It seems like July has been a busy month, we get together every Wednesday to scrap and then our CTMH monthly gathering. I am also going to try and do a class once a month at Scrapbook Store Inc. - my 1st is scedualed for Tuesday July 26th, have to call and see if anyone has signed up. Doing a "Christmas in July Card Class" how to make quick 10 cards, it is a technique called One Page Wonder !!! Been trying to get my scraproom organized which is a big job! Penny and I have also been getting things ready for our September "End of Summer Retreat" We have all our make n takes ready and our doorprizes set up, got some challenges planned and our menu planned. Ready to have a great weekend of scrapping, swimming and fun with good friends !!!
The next thing to get ready for is Marty's baby shower !!!! August will probably come and go quickly which will be good because then I will get to see Danielle in September Hubby said I could go see Scott, Carey and Kyle for my birthday so I just might do that! It is so hard being away from my grandbaby !

I have been away long enough and need to start up again. I have been busy scrapping and card making and enjoying my new grandson and have neglected my blog to long. I have been trying to clean my scraproom also and we all know how time consuming that can be. seems like I can't get it going !!! LOL I have done alot of creating and will be getting pics up here soon !!!!
I have also found a great new place " Gecko Galz " www.geckogalz.com and it has gotten me going again on my vintage creating so you will see some more of that!

Well, not gone but not blogging. I have been working part time with Close To My Heart and then part time at our local scrapbook store "SCRAPBOOK HEAVEN". I am thinking of trying something new - just need to get the info out there to all thouse ladies that want to learn to scrapbook !!!! Thinking of doing classes in their homes type thing !!! Anyone think this might work ??? Kinda like my CTMH but more teaching and not selling (although I would have that if they are interested) I am also gonnas try and do some album work. There are some people out there that love the scrapbooking but don't feel they can do it or feel like they do not have the time. I wat to work at the things I like to do but not in the sales part - want to do the creative part !!!!

This is our fourth month and we are getting closer to having 100 members. We have some great challenges every month with some great prizes !!!! I am really stepping out of my comfort zone lately - been doing alot of altered items. Thanks to one of our new members (Karen) I have been working on some Fairy Houses. Learning some new things (did my first house in what is called "Shabby Chic". Who ays you can't teach a old dog new tricks - lol !!!

I have been good, getting blogging done alot more this year - just need to keep it up. I am going crazy with the waiting on my design team call. I sent my stuff in on the 1st and won't hear anything until the 9th. If (and I say if because there are probably zillions of ladies trying out for it) I make it, then there is another step to get thru ! I really worked hard on theses projects and about drove everyone crazy, but I was happy with what I turned in. Hope they agree !!!! LOL Close To My Heart is going good, I have my first Gathering on the 7th and then another on the 15th. Here's hoping I get another booking from one of them.

I received my starter kit in the mail and I have my first Gathering (scrap party) on Feb.7th. I also started up a Hostess Club where ten ladies get together for a year and each is a hostess for one month. We have nine members but still waiting to hear from a few ladies, so should have it filled soon. I also placed an ad on my home association website so hoping to get peoples attention in my area. I signed up to be a Close To My Heart Consultant. Oh me, oh my......what am I getting myself into. I love scrapbooking and card making so I thought what better for me to do. Hopefully I will be able to get up in front of people I do not know and sound intelligent !!!! LOL Wish me luck in this - I will need it ! Right now I am taking classes online for my Bachelor's Degree !!!! I kid you not !!!!!

I'm doing it again.....said I was thru with this stuff, but I just love these diecuts and said if I am gonna work my butt off and then be a nervous wreck only to be upset cuz I don't take rejection well - I might as well do it for something I am so addicted to. I am trying out for the design team for Spellbinders. I have four projects to do and a short essay. I have to do a layout, a card, an altered item and a stamping item of my choice. I have cards done (just have to pick which one to submit)and I am finishing up the small details on the altered item this weekend. I am hopeing to do the layout of some of my daughter's wedding pictures and will probably do another card for the stamping project ( I just love making cards)! The essay will be the hardest for me - never been to good at talking about myself. Well wish me luck !!!!!

I guess it is official, LOL - the invites went out in the mail Monday July 27th. Most everything is taken care of just a few odds and ends are left. The Bridal Shower is coming up August 16th so I am flying out for it. I also get to go with Carey for her fitting of her dress. I am excited because being so far away, I haven't been able to do alot with her. Here Comes the Bride............

Well, my youngest is getting married. I am thrilled and happy for her and sad that I can't be there and join in on the planning. That is how it is when you don't live in the same state as your children. I am going to be there for her bridal shower and she is having her dress fitting at that time so I get to be there for that - so that is nice. She is getting married in Newport, California..........at Newport Bay on a boat. This will be different then any wedding I have been to. Her dress is beautiful (and red) and she is having black calli lilies with red roses for her bouquet. The girls are wearing black dresses. So far, all I have gotten is shoes !!!!! Well, I still have time, the wedding is in September. Can't say to much about the groom........haven't met him, but if my daughter loves him - he must be great !!!!! She jokes about not being able to find a good man so she had to import one !! He if from Scotland. I did get my hand in the invitations, reply cards, thank you cards and Bridal Shower invites - I made them all.

Gee, I just realized I started my blog almost one year ago and I have neglected it this year. I need to come and update it. I have been busy card making and scrapbooking and not blogging. I have been getting stuff done to try out for a Design Team again......don't know why I do it to myself, because I don't take rejection well - LOL !!!! Going To A Concert On Sunday................

So jazzed, going to see ZZTop, Pretenders and the "ReUnion"of Stray Cats. I haven';t see any of these guys in concert before so I am excited to see them, Richard's company gives them free tickets once a year and these are the ones we got. They have season tickets so they are always pretty good seats. Taking my camera so will have pic to do a Concert LO !!!!!

I did all 10 days of the challenge but didn't win. There we so many great cards, I would hate to have to judge them. I did win as one of the 10 runners up. To be eligible for that , you had to do all 10 challenges. Not sure of what I won yet, there were alot of different prizes. Guess we will have to wait until it shows up in the mail.

I have been doing alot of scrapping lately, this Tallyscrapper site has gotten me motivated. I have won a few games and have gotten a few goodies for being one of the Top Tally Point makers of the day (a couple times) and I even have a LO in the Father's Day Challenge that is doing good. Roni and Jess are rubbing off on my scrapping talents....I am starting to do LOs similar to their styles (even scraplifting from them) Oh.....No........
I need to get myself in gear and get some work done around the house....started going thru stuff in garage because #1 - I am looking for something #2 - I am trying to get stuff in rubbermaid tubs so stuff doesn't get damaged (we have been having water leaking into garage. Hopefully we got that situation fixed) and #3 - it just needs to be done. I also need to get into my scraproom and clean again...it always gets messy.
Tomorrow is father's Day and hopefully the weather will be nice so we can BBQ. Just gonna stay around the house and swim and relax. That's about all going on.....later, TTFN

Mother's Day Weekend

Had to stick around Friday waiting for a delivery from my daughter Carey............she sent me flowers since she could not be with me for Mother's Day. A Hugs and Kisses bouquet (Iris and tulips in a red vase). She had already given me a beautiful star like mobile when I was out in California last time, now that the new deck is finished - I can hang it up. We went to a friends graduation party on Saturday, had a nice time sitting around the pool. A few drinks, nice dinner and cake. Clint's mom came out from California for his graduation.

Went to breakfast at Cheesecake Factory for Mother's Day.......brought cheesecake home. Got some neat stuff from Pampered Chef from the hubby and daughter Danielle. Working on a LO of moms in my life (going thru pictures right now and getting them printed out) Hope to have it done in a couple days so I can post it.

I have really gotten the bug since moving to Texas. At first it was just to get out and meet some people....don't get me wrong, I had been doing some scrapbooking but just alittle here and there. I started this whole thing after seeing some that my daughter did and decided to redo my wedding book that was falling apart, then decided to redo my girl's baby books. Then when we decided to move.......I started my first book on the move to Texas. Now I scrap just about everything - it is habit forming. I have added stamping into it and with that came card making, which I really enjoy. I don't buy store bought cards anymore!!!!
My daughter said " Mom get out of the house and do something" so I went to the scapbook store in our area - which is Scrap Book Heaven. Met some great ladies, some that worked there and others that just love to scrap. We get together once a month for a Stampin Up Meet and we try to get an all day crop in every once in awhile. Now my daughter say "Are you going again????"
