Cervical Cancer Awareness

At the first of the year my daughter was diagnosed with cervical cancer, we have gone thru three different biopsies and it was confirmed she need to get a hysterectomy. While recovering from  her last procedure she went online looking at all the cancer awareness shirts. She kept finding all these "Save the Boobies shirts" and asked herself... Where are the Save the Coochie shirts? So with help of her friends, they came up with their own shirt. She now has a website: and is selling the T-shirts to help with medical bill and spread the word on the importance of regular papsmears. She didn't have any symptoms that made her seek out her doctor, just her annual checkup (which her last year one was fine) ! There are two different types of cervical cancer one that starts on the outside of the cervics and one on the inside which is the more aggressive of the two. She did have insurance but it had very high deductibles and maxium out of pocket costs. They lost that insurance due to her husbands work decided to stop providing insurance to part time employees. They were able to get new and better insurance through the Affordable Health Care Act, but now they have a new deductible and maxium out of pocket costs to reach. Her friends gave her the idea of selling the shirts to help spreading the word about Cervical Cancer and help with her medical bills. Once her medical bills are paid, she wants to give the money to foundation to continue to spread the word.

My photo
Born in Illinois, moved to California when I was nine. Finished high school and some college. Got married and moved to Nebraska with hubby because he joined the Air Force. Then spent some time in Alaska before moving back to California. I lived in Californa until 2004 when my husband decided to move us to Texas. I still have a husband (yes-I still have him even though he moved me to Texas), two daughters, three cats (and two outside cats that adopted us along with two racoons that we feed). Things have changed, now that hubby retired......we moved to Colorado and have said goodbye to cats ( they are gone now ) No more racoons but we did adopt two rescue kitten from Hurricane Harvey.
